Up close and personal with your project
Knowing your project inside out
Telling its story
Knowing your project inside out
Telling its story
Continue with your skin(s)+bones emergency shelter project.
Working on your own develop the project through one of the following
documentation modes:
1:1 scale detailed orthographic drawing, (section / elevation / developed surface) using various media
Working Prototype (subject to testing)
Detailed digital 3D max model (rules for this: no use of default materials: output 480x640 res/1 min max movie length)
Finely crafted physical model at 1:20
An architectural film (flash/aftereffects)
Detailed set of orthographic drawings rendered in pencil on 3 x A1 sheets min (site plan, plan, section, elevation) that show light, shadow and texture.
A 1:50 exploded axonometric drawing
In making your chosen document(s) consider: context, site, ground, inhabitants/interiority/belongings, light/shadow conditions, “haptic” material qualities, techtonic aspects, technical aspects.
Write a 100 word statement describing the key aspects of your project. (You might return to the manifesto and brief for guidance with this). This should be part of your pin up material for the crit. Your pinned up material at the crit SHOULD HAVE NO FURTHER EXPLANATORY TEXT ON IT (except for notation on a drawing).
Whatever mode of working you choose from the list above your "documents" must be carefully considered and crafted. Think about how the particular qualities of your project are best able to be developed and communicated through the documents that you make. Discuss your choice with a tutor. We want to help you achieve a high level of crafting of these documents.
Get up close and intimate with your project, know it inside out and tell its story.
